ISTANBUL, August 13
A military court at Istanbul sentenced to death four Italians foi espionage. A proclamation addressed by Berlin radio to Turks living in the Azerbaijan district, inviting them to desert Russia and join the German ranks caused indignation in the Turkish intellectual sphere.
The Secretary-General for Foreign Affairs (M. Wenemen Joglu) has been appointed Foreign Minister of Turkey in succession to the new Premier (M. Sara Joglu). The Turkish Government has approved five Turkish editors visiting England from September 1. A message from Berlin states that a group of Turkish journalists, who had been touring Germany, arrived at the Russian front and were banqueted by von Manstein.
