I would like to bring to the notice of those 'responsible the great need for white flour to be replaced by a
PLEA FOR STANDARD LOAF
standard brand of flour coo-
taining the amount of minerals and vitamins necessary to ensure health. Not only bread, but all cookery would be more healthful and better flavoured. It is quite time that white bread was prohibited. All thinking people know what little value it has. Being a catarrh former, and catarrh being a disease producer, in tire interests o f the health of all people a standard loaf should be supplied in its place. Judging from the different health foods on the market, it should not be difficult to produce a standard brand of flour. There is always a plentiful supply of white bread, but never enough wholemeal to meet the demand. This has been well proved. If we are to win this war we will need all the health possible. It is no use treating symptoms. We must get right to the cause. Half-measures never cured anything.—M. PORTER.
