Men Between 50 And 51 Must Register Now

(Per Press Association —Copyright' WELLINGTON, This Day

The Minister for National Service (Mr. Semple) stated last night that an error had occurred in the Registration for Employment Order gazetted on March 18. It required males who had attained the age of 46 but had not attained 50 years to register. This order was intended to apply to all men who had attained 46 but not 51. Accordingly a new order was gazetted last night correcting the previous one. Any man between the ages of 50 and 51 must now register within seven days if lie lias not already done so.

Mr. Semple also emphasised that persons attaining the ages covered by these recent registration orders were liable for registration immediately they attain these ages. Moreover, any person included in exempted classes who changes his occupation or otherwise ceases to be exempted must register immediately.
