Scout Week
WE commend to our readers the claims of Scout Week, which is to be inaugurated by the Governor-General in a broadcast this evening. There is no need to stress the importance of the Scout movement, but there is need to remind parents that unless boys are encouraged to join up, the movement cannot prosper. Appeals by the Mayor, (Mr Jones) and the Stipendiary Magistrate (Mr Ferner), of Whangarei, printed elsewhere on this page, put in a nutshell the reasons why Scout Week should be given the attention it deserves in this portion of Northland.
