Dominions Should Have More Influence

LONDON, Dec. 23.

All sections of opinion in Britain sympathise with the Australian proposal that the Commonwealth should be represented on the Singapore WaxCouncil by some one capable of exercising a real influence on its decisions, instead of being, as at present appears to be the case, a mere observer, says “The Times” in a leading article.

The Singapore War Council, “The Times” adds, at present is mainly a Britsh institution and must be expanded to take in Australian and Dutch representatives if it is to do useful work.

Australian opinion is also pressing for more adequate representation on the War Cabinet in London. Recent experience confirms the view that means must be found to give the Empire its full voice continuously in the execution of policy at the centre.
