Police Say Shot Was Fired At Sergeant

[Special to “Northern Advocate”] AUCKLAND, This Day. When a police party comprising Sergeant L. E. G. Wilson and five constables called at a house in Grey Terrace, City, last evening, it is stated that they were threatened with a shotgun and that a shot fired at Sergeant Wilson missed its mark. The police visit followed an attempt by two constables to serve a summons on an elderly man, charging him with a breach of the Impressment of Rifles regulations. The police state that they were threatened with a shotgun, whereupon the constables obtained the assistance of Sergeant Wilson and other police. When the party reached the house the police state a shot was fired which missed Sergeant Wilson. A man was then arrested.
