Prompt Repayments Of U.K. War Financing

[Special to “Northern Advocate”] WELLINGTON, This Day. One of the most important features of New Zealand's financing is the arrangement with the United Kingdom Government under which charges, for capital equipment and maintenance of the N.Z.E.F., and the Dominion’s share of the Empire Air Training Scheme, are advanced by the United Kingdom Government under a memorandum of security. The Minister for Finance (Mr. Nash) was asked today if the Dominion this year has been able to repeat its satisfactory experience of the previous financial year, when a charge of £5,983.000 under the memorandum of security was repaid by July last. “Yes,” replied Mr. Nash, “since then, we have similarly repaid to the United Kingdom Government the sum of £2,700,000.”
