Likens Thailand To Low Countries
BANGKOK, Nov. 16. The King has appointed Luang Bipul Songgram, who is Thai Prime Minister and Minister for Defence and Foreign Affairs, to be supreme commander of Thailand’s armed forces. Lieul.-Gen-eral Luang Phrom Yodhi will be second in command. The official Bangkok radio warned the nation that fifth columnists were already active in the country inciting the people against the Government. An observer in Singapore states that Thailand is growing more perturbed at the situation and Bangkok radio is announcing every night that the Thais must be on their guard and prepared to fight. The station has said that the position of Thailand is not very different from that of Holland and Belgium before the Germans marched In.
