Otaika
Mrs. Penrte Bailie, of Hamilton, is the guest, of her aunt, Mrs. L. Wright. Mrs. A. Drummond returned from a fortnight spent in Auckland, where she was the guest of Mrs. Lester Jeffs, ot Grafton Road. . Mrs. J. Middleton has returned from a few weeks spent at Woodville. Miss Joan Magee joined a party oi friends on a trip to Opononi for last wee K-end. Last Tuesday the Northland District Pig Council's supervisor, Mr. H. Preston, attended at a meeting of farmers held at Mr. H. J. Murray's farm. During the afternoon the party also visited Mr. Klinac's farm The Puwera-Otaika branch of the W.D.F.U. held its monthly meeting on Friday in Otaika hall. Mrs. Drummond presiding. A report on the patriotic dance recently held was very gratifying, showing a net profit of £G. A letter received from Mrs. Drummon's son. Pte. Wilfred Jeffs, acknowledging a parcel from the Division, made special mention of soap and cigarettes. Luncheon was served by members.
