Naples, Libya Ports Heavily Bombed

(Rec. noon,) RUGBY, Nov. 14. The Royal Air Force Middle East communique states that Naples was again successfully attacked by heavy bombers of the Royal Air Force during the night of November 11-12. Large fires were started in the marshalling yards and along railway lines. Bombs were also seen to fall on an air-frame factory, and particularly violent explosions occurred when a building, believed to be a power station, was hit. The seaplane base and railway station at Syracuse, in Sicily, was alsb attacked on the same night. Fires which were visible 80 miles away were started. Benghazi Bombed Objectives in Libya were attacked on the night of Tuesday and Wednesday. At Benghazi, stores and marshalling yards were bombed, and one large bomb which burst in the marshalling yards extinguished three searchlights. At Derna, stores and motor transports were bombed by Maryland bombers of the South African Air Force. South African planes also dispersed aircraft at Benina aerodrome on Thursday. Duststorms made visibility bad, and although bombs were seen to fall among aircraft, the damage could not be assessed. During the same morning, other Marylar.ds of the South African Air Force attacked barracks and dispersed aircraft at Berka aerodrome. A direct hit was obtained on the barracks. Bombs In Abyssinia Aircraft of the South African Air Force bombed and machine-gunned enemy positions at Fero Aber, on the north-east shore of Lake Tsana, in Abyssinia on Tuesday. Trenches were hit and a machine-gun post was silenced. From all operations two of our aircraft are missing.
