Auckland ’Change
[Special to "Northern Advocate”] AUCKLAND. This Day. The growing strength of Government loans was confirmed on the Auckland Stock Exchange today when, in two reported sales, gains were registered in two 4 per cent stocks, the 1943-46 issue, which was lifted another eighth and the 1949-52 issue, in which half yearly interest is payable tomorrow. Dearth of offerings in recent weeks has resulted in stronger buying support. Bank of New Zealands were steady at £2/9/6, before being marked down on an ex-div. basis. The market for equities was dull, and there were no sales at the noon call.
