Children’s Fancy Dress Ball
Last Friday night the Hukerenui school children held a most successful fancy dress ball, the hall being well filled with parents and friends who were delighted with the most colourful display of 77 fancy costumes. The hall was tastefully decorated with artificial wisteria flovters and pink and green streamers. Under the tuition of the teachers, Mr. P. R. Hunt, Miss Beautrais and Miss Wolfe, the children had learned ballroom dancing and folk dancing. In these they participated with full confidence. The orchestra, led by Mrs. Phyn at the piano, provided excellent music both for ihe children and adults after supper.
