Medical Board Sittings In Northland
A sitting of a military medical board was held at Whangarei last week, when recruits for both the overseas and the territorial forces were examined. Men examined for overseas service were classed as follows: Three fit, two temporarily unfit; Maori volunteers, eight fit, three temporarily unfit. For territorial service, balloted men: 73 fit, 20 temporarily unfit, two permanently unfit; Pakeha volunteers, two temporarily unfit; Maori volunteers, three fit, four temporarily unfit. Board Itinerary In North During this week medical boards will sit at varidus northern centres as follows: Kaeo, Tuesday 15, 18 men to be examined; Herekino, Wednesday, 40 men; Rawene. Thursday, 44 men; Kawakawa, Friday, 16 men. On account of the restrictions imposed through the meningitis outbreak, no Maoris will be examined at Kawakawa. These men will be examined at a later date.
