Whangarei W.D.F.U.
The monthly meeting of the Whangarei branch of the W.D.F.U. was held at the Y.W.C.A. rooms on June 13. Mrs. Horrobin presided over a good attendance. Three new members were enrolled. As a mark of respect to the memory of Mrs. Hilton, a past member, the members stood in silence for a few moments. Motions of sympathy were passed, and greetings sent to members in hospital. Papers were read in connection with the Soldiers’ Civil Re-establishment League, also a circular memorandum from the W.W.S.A. in regard to Plunket aids. The president and secretary were instructed to meet the Plunket nurse. Miss Lilley was accorded a vote of thanks for her assistance with • the tablesetting' display. The rolling shilling was won by Mrs. P|wson.
