Conscientious Objectors’ Appeals
TPer -Press Association.—Copyright.! WELLINGTON, This Day. There have been 222 appeals by conscientious objectors dealt with in Wellington since the hearings of these appeals began jfemr months ago. Of these 49 have been allowed, 42 dismissed subject to the performance of non-combatant duty in the armed forces, 84 dismissed and 47 withdrawn.
Of the appeals dismissed before the amending regulations came into force last month, 32 have been given a rehearing. Four of these appeals on rehearing have been .allowed, seven dismissed subject to non-combatant service, one withdrawn and 18 dismissed. Two remain to be heard.
