HOUTO: It is the grass grub. It is very common and does a great deal of harm, feeding on the roots of grass and other plants. Later it emerges in the form of a brown beetle. These pests fly in swarms during late spring and early summer. They make a droning noise and attack and devour the foliage of many trees.
