Prisoners Of War Information Bureau

[Per Press Association. —Copyright] WELLINGTON, This Day. An information bureau concerning prisoners of war has been set up by the Joint Council of the Order of St. John and the New Zealand Red Cross Society. Work dealing with the supervision 1 and relief of prisoners of war has already been undertaken in New Zealand by the Joint Council, but with a ! large addition to New Zealand’s prisoners of war as the result of the fighting in Greece, the work will now be established on a full-time basis. The headquarters of the New Zealand Red Cross Society has already a large amount of information in hand, and further particulars will be available later. It is proposed by the Joint Council to put an officer in full-time control of this branch of activity, under a subcommittee of the Joint Council and, as accommodation is taxed at headquarters, it is intended to transfer the Prisoners of War Information Bureau to an office devoted to the one purpose. In the meantime inquiries should be marked on the envelope: “Prisoners of War Information Bureau, Joint Council Headquarters, Dixon Street, Wellington.”
