Captain J. H. Hall, who is posted as missing, was appointed public relations officer on arrival in Egypt with New Zealand troops which had been in Britain for some time.
Captan Hall left New Zealand as official war correspondent, and in addition to his recently-acquired duties he continued as a war correspondent when opportunity offered. The last despatch received from Captain Hall in Greece was dated from Athens on April 21.
