Big Tote Increase For First Day At Epsom
[Special to “Northern Advocate”] AUCKLAND, This Day. The Auckland Trotting Club’s winter meeting was opened at Epsom on Saturday. Every win favourite was beaten, but three winners, Josedale Grattan, Davey Day and Narbada, were main fancies in the place betting. The fine weather attracted 14,000 people, and the totalisator handled £50,085, compared with £38,287 on the first day last year, an increase of £11,798. Concluding results:
