Mangonui Power Board Election

Little interest was taken in the election for two members representing the Mangonui County on the Ba£ of Islands Electric Power Board last week, only . 326 votes being recorded out of a roll number of 791 ratepayers. Six informal votes were cast, three voting for more than the number required, two papers were left unmarked, and one had the four names bracketed. Twelve declaration votes were dealt with, five being allowed. The cross system of voting at times was confusing, voters remarking that when at school their sums, when wrong, were marked with a cross and with a tick when correct.

The final figures for the election of two members for the Mangonui County to the Bay of Islands Power Board are; H. H. Thompson 244, E. F. Bradley 163, V. N.' Beasley 138, R. T. Wrath all 71.
