Prominent Canterbury Identity Dead
[Per Press Association. —Copyright.] CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. The death has occurred of the treasurer of the Canterbury Jockey Club (Mr. George Gould). He was born in Christchurch in 1865 and was educated at Christ’s College, Christchurch. Harrow and Jesus College, Cambridge. He at first went farming, but later undertook general business. He was chairman of the New Zealand Shipping Company_jmd chairman of the Canterbury Jockey Club from 1924 to 1928. He is survived by his wife and three sons and two daughters.
