From Whangarei To Hawera In Air Ambulance

NEW PLYMOUTH, This Day.
The only air ambulance left in the North Island after the impressment of others by the Government last week brought Mrs. A. Walton from Whangarei to Hawera. \ Mrs. Walton is to convalesce at the home of her daughter, Mrs. L. Hall. She made a long journey by ambulance on Wednesday from the Kaipara hospital, near Dargaville, to the Whangarei aerodrome.
The plane left there at 10.50 and landed at Mangere (Auckland) at 11.50 to refuel. At 12.15 it left Auckland and landed at Hawera at 2.15. A Hawera ambulance conveyed Mrs Walton to Mrs. Hall’s home afffer a comfortable trip in perfect weather. Equipped with an invalid stretcher in which the patient half reclined, the plane is in much demand, and the pilot made a long trip on Wednesday, leaving for Whangarei from his home at Rotorua in the morning and returning to Rotorua from Hawera in n afternoon.
