A Thief’s Loss The feelings of a certain well-known Napier woman horticulturist whose prize chrysanthemums vanished from her front garden overnight just as they were reaching the peak of their beauty, can be better imagined than described. Undaunted by her temporary setback, the irate victim, a few days later, decided to replace her losses and was engaged in forking the ground when she discovered a man’s signet ring which had apparently fallen off the culprit’s finger as he cut the missing flowers. In the meantime the woman is retaining her find.
