(Rec. 2 p.m.) CHUNGKING, May 23. It is announced that the 13th Chinese Red Army is participating in the battle against the Japanese in southern Shansi. A Shanghai message says the Japanese army spokesman claimed a decisive victory, gaining control of the whole of southern Shan-si and north of the Yellow River.
