McNickle, Kaikohe Town Board Chairman

[Special to “Northern Advocate”! KAIKOHE, This Day. At the first meeting of the newlyelected Kaikohe Town Board, Commissioner McNickle was appointed chairman, with Commissioner Penney deputy-chairman. On the motion of Commissioner McNickle, seconded by Commissioner Morfette, it was decided that no honorarium be paid the chairman. Divisions were made of the town's affairs, each member being responsible for a definite job. Following are the allotments made: Chairman: Town-planning, building permits and by-laws. Commissioner Edwards: Building inspection and buildings owned by the board. Commissioners Penney and Wyatt: Supervision of outside staff and works. Commissioner Morfette: Water supply and supplementary water supply. Patriotic Committee The chairman was appointed as chairman of the library committee, Mr C. E. Blow was appointed leader of the E.P.S., and Mr W. H. Knudsen is to be requested to continue to. act as chairman of the Kaikohe Patriotic Committee. The matter of the erection of a shed at the cemetery was left in the hands of Commissioners Penney and Wyatt, and the board accepted Commissioner Morfette’s offer of four sheets j of corrugated iron at 6d per foot. Permission was granted I. J.
