Matapouri
The Matapouri Institute held its monthly meeting on Wednesday,* May 21, Mrs. Woolley presiding over a good attendance. The winter school and the field days that Mrs. Johnson is to take later were fully discussed. A short talk by Miss M. Bines on hand spinning in China in wartime was very interesting. The trading table did brisk business. The afternoon was filled by first aid bandaging practise and community singing. Competitions resulted: Arts and crafts, Mrs Morrison 1. Best bloom, Mrs. J. Donaldson 1. Hostesses for the afternoon were Mrs. T. Clements and Miss D. Clements. The singing of the Peace Hymn brought a happy afternoon to a close.
