Vichy Is French Diplomatic Heart

(Rec. 1.30 p.m.) (LONDON, May 22 It has been officially announced in Berlin that all nations have been asked to close their embassies or legations in Paris. The measure is not directed against any particular country, but is designed to concentrate all diplomatic missions at Vichy, which is the present capital of France. There is no objection to any country which has diplomatic relations with Germany maintaining consulates in Paris.

The German News Agency stated that the Reich Finance Minister (Count von Krosick) has arrived in Paris for talks with the German authorities.

By special arrangement, Reuter’s world service in addition to other special sources of information is used in the compilation of overseas intelligence published in this issue and all rights therein in Australia and New Zealand are reserved.
