Skilled Men Leave Ranks For Workshops
(Rec. 2 p.m.) LONDON, May 22. Skilled men will be released from the army in England to work in the iron and steel industry, which needs 30,000 men. A section of the Cabinet hitherto has strongly resisted Mr. Ernest Bevin’s efforts to persuade his colleagues that a substantial number of soldiers could be more usefully employed in industry.
