The interest of owners of motor vehicles whose vehicles were used in connection with the armed forces, Emergency Precautions Scheme or Home Guard, are safeguarded under emergency regulations gazetted last night. These provide that owners of such vehicles will not be penalised with respect to heavy traffic fees, provision being made for rebate as from the dates of their being taken over. Farmers who are entitled to concessions in fees-, where the vehicles are used on their farms are also protected in cases where the vehicles are used in connection with the Emergency Precautions Scheme or Home Guard. The regulations are retrospective to cover the recent impressment activities.
