Maori Valour In Greek Compaign
[Special to “Northern Advocate”] AUCKLAND, This Day. The Acting-Prime Minister (Mr Nash), speaking at a Government dinner in honour of Mr Menzies, Australian Prime Minister, last night, expressed the hope that news would be received early concerning the Maori Battalion of the N.Z.E.F. Mr Nash referred to the valour of the Maoris in fighting in Greece, the manner in which they held to their positions on Mt. Olympus, and the way they refused to leave their colonel. Many of them, he said, would have got away.
