Although entries came in quite heavily for the Christnqas painting competition, the standard of work was not particularly good. In the senior section the halfcrowh prize was awarded to: — JEAN PASLEY, Ararua, Matakohe P.O. Age 11. Book prizes in the junior section for little people up to eight years 'of age, went to:— RONALD ATTWOOD, ■ Opuawhanga R.D., Hikurangi. Age 8. ALDEN OGLE, Pipiw,ai R.D., Whangarei. Age 8.
