Ships Under Survey To Resume Next Week
[Special, to “Northern Advocate ”] WELLINGTON, This Day.
As a normal end of the year arrangement, the Union Steamship Co. has paid off the crews of a number oi its ships. This caused the circulation of interesting rumours, but certainly not facts. This being the time when the mines are closed for the holidays, it affords a good opportunity for carrying out the annual survey of ships, which necessitates dry docking. Most of these vessels will be recommissioned next week.
