Issued Valueless Cheque In Whangarei

[Special to “Northern Advocate ”] AUCKLAND, This Day.

A grocer, William Marne Clark, 27, pleaded guilty in the Police Court today to obtaining on December 7 cigarettes valued at 6/9 and £4 13/3 in money by means of a valueless cheque. Detective Slater produced a statement made by Clark in which he admitted he knew the cheque he tendered was valueless.

Detective-Sergeant Walsh said the present offence was one of a series committed by Clark at Whangarei and on which he had been dealt with by the court on December 19 when he -was sentenced to two years’ reformative detention.

On the charge on which he appeared this morning Clark was convicted and discharged.
