[Per Press Association. Copyright ]
WELLINGTON, This Day,
The annual convention of the New Zealand Methodist Young Men’s Bible Class movement, which was concluded yesterday, considered many subjects bearing on the Church and Bible Class life.
The convention carried the following remit: ‘That although many members hold the unequivocal belief that the taking of life in warfare is contrary to the Christian lav/ of love, other members have taken up arms in the sincere belief that they are following the path Christ would have them tread, and the convention calls on the movement to maintain an attitude of goodwill even where there exist grave differences of belief and action.” Support was given to the co-ordina-tion scheme intended to unify all youth work within the Church, linking Sunday Schools and Bible Classes more directly with the Church as a whole. Officers for the New Year were elected as follows: President, Mr A. G. Worboys; vice-presidents, Mr J. Boal, Mr E. Macfarlane, Rev. H. J. Tozer; secretary, Mr S. Fellows; treasurer, Mr H. Kelly.
