Wairoa Geyser Shoots 50Ft. High
[Special to ‘‘Northern Advocate”] ROTORUA, This Day.
The Wairoa geyser, which until the beginning of December had been quiescent for 30 years, gave a fine display yesterday afternoon. Many visitors at the Whakarewarewa reserve were fortunate to see the geyser, shoot a column of water and steam to a height of over 50 feet, the display lasting for five minutes. So far none of the guides nor the caretaker has identified any signs of impending activity, but it is expected that if it becomes more frequent they will be able to do so.
