Inquest Held On Seaman Drowned At Portland
The inquest into the death of Frederick Smith, 31, seaman, of Auckland, who was drowned at Portland on Saturday afternoon, was opened before the Acting-Coroner (Mr H. C. Hemphill, J.P.) on Tuesday. Evidence of identification was given by W. V, Smith, bother of deceased. Deceased was a married man with a . wife and three children residing in Auckland.
Medical evidence was given by Dr H. F. Buckley, who said death was due to drowning. The inquest was adjpurned sine die
