Wellington Tram Fares Increased

The application of the Wellington City Council to increase tram fares, was publicly heard by the Price Tribunal, and the decision referred to, and approved by, the Minister for Industries and Commerce (Mr Sullivan).
An increase in Sunday fares of a Id. a trip was allowed with a maximum of 6d., giving additional revenue of £6OOO ,a year towards meeting increased costs, as against £17,000, the increase sought by the Council.
