Quisling Sends Norwegian Labourers To Germany

(Received noon.) LONDON, November 27,

“The Times” Stockholm correspondent says Germans have made an agreement with the Quisling Government to send Norwegians to Germany as labourers for rates of pay according to German usage. It is explained that Norway has unemployed, but simultaneously a Norwegian newspaper complains that the scarcity of labourers in Norwegian forests makes it impossible to fulfill the winter lumbering plan.

The death has occurred of Mr John Scott, a member of the Caledonian Bowling Club, who was twice New Zealand singles champion, winning the title at Christchurch in 1928 and 1932. He also twice won the singles championship for the Dunedin centre, and had many tournament successes. Mr Scott was one of the most brilliant exponents of bowls in Otago.
