Railwaymen Disapprove P.S.E. Regulations
[Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, This Day. The recent conference of the. Lo-
comotive Engineers, Firemen and
Cleaners’ Association decided to place on record the members’ strong disapproval of the recent amendment to the Public Safety Emergency Regulations. It/ is the considered opinion of the association that the Government has already on the Statute Book ample power to deal promptly with any acts prejudicial to New Zealand’s war effort, and that the recent amendment is the very antithesis of democracy. It was decided that the Prime Minister and the National Executive of the Labour Party be notified of the members’ uneasiness that such a threat to trade unions should be introduced by a Labour Government.
