This was the reply of the Minister for Finance (Mr Nash), when asked on his arrival at Auckland this morning whether a supplementary Budget would be presented to Parliament when it reassembled next week. Mr Nash was also asked what was io be the position of the Civil Service in relation to the pronouncement of the Arbitration Court increasing wages by 5 per cent. "That question is now under consideration by the Government." Mr Nash replied. “The whole effect cf the Court’s decision on salaries and wages generally is being examined.” In reply to a further question, Mr Nash indicated that it might be necessary to make provision in the Finance Bill, which had yet to come before Parliament, for the carrying out of any decision arrived at by the Government in respect to the Arbitration Court's pronouncement.
