No Sanitary By-Laws In Far North
Reporting to the Mangonui County Council on Wednesday, the sanitary inspector (Mr J. W. Parker) stated that Dr. Gilberd had made a general inspection of some of the settlements during the month. The council was again reminded of its duty to make the necessary bylaws enabling him to carry out his own duties as sanitary inspector. He frequently received complaints about different matters and could do nothing because there were no bylaws. Hokianga’s Example. As Inspector of Health in the district, he could take no action except as directed by the Medical Officer of Health. The Hokianga County Council had now an up-to-date set of by-laws. He would recommend that the Hutt County by-laws be adopted. The clerk said he had typed 10 copies of the Hutt by-laws, eliminating what did not apply to the Mangonui County. These copies would be available to members. ■ -••••■
