Weygand Flies Through Hail Of Anti-Aircraft Fire
PARIS, May 28. Flying through a hail of anti-aircraft fire and dodging German aeroplanes, the Allied Commander-in-Chief (General Weygand) visited the Allied armies in Northern France and Belgium. He left Le Bourget in a bomber with an escort of six Morane fighters. Violent anti-aircraft fire was encountered crossing the German lines, then a patrol of Messerschnxitts was sighted, hut the Moranes put them to flight. After landing at the end of his journey and holding a conference, General Weygand embarked on a destroyer at a nearby port. German warplanes rained bombs on the district, but French anti-aircraft guns kept them away while the destroyer sailed.
