Australia's Recruiting Speed-Up
MELBOURNE, May 28. The Director-General for Recruiting (Brigadier-General Lloyd) said today that the Government is now enlisting a stream of men without limit in three categories:— (1) Fifty thousand men will be recruited for the 7th Division and corps troops for training in existing camp accommodation. (2) Further recruits will be drafted to new camps as they can be provided in racecourses, showgrounds and other centres. (3) Men who cannot be accommodated in camps will be billeted in their own homes, for which they will be paid, and ordered to report daily at the local drill halls for the same hours as the men in the camps.
