More Staff Changes Officially Announced

(Received 11 a.m.) LONDON. May 27. It is officially stated that the Com-mander-in-Chief of the Western Command (Lieut.-General R. H. Haining) has been appointed vice-chief of the Imperial General Staff. General Sir Henry C. Jackson succeeds as commander-in-chief of the Western Command, the post he held before retiring in 1939. The commander of the 18th division (Major-General B. C. T. Paget) has been appointed Chief of the General Staff, Home Forces, with the acting rank of Lieut.-General.
