Mr A. B. Taylor has arrived at Whachairman of the N.D.A., took the chair railway porter.
Sergeant G. H. L. Holt, of Auckland, is relieving Sergeant A. Bisset, who is on leave, at the Whangarei Police Station.
Mr W. C. S. Jessop has joined the staff of the Whangarei railway station. He is a cadet transferred from Te Aroha and replaces Mr Dunckley.
Mr R. C. Starnes fills the vacancy of porter at the Whangarei railway station. He replaces Mr Bowick, who has been transferred to Buckland.
The death has occurred at Dunedin of Senior-Sergeant J. W. Claasen, who left Kaitaia on promotion two years ago. For several years he was constable at Kaikohe.
Mr J. Hetherington, of New Plymouth, has been .appointed assistant county clerk to the Bay of Islands County Council, vice Mr A. J. Drage, who has been promoted to the position of county clerk during Mr J. L. Rayner’s absence with the forces.
Mr Arthur Morton, for 30 years chairman of the N.D.A., too kthe ch.air at the annual conference of 1 the Northland Dairy Association today. Presence of Mr Morton at the annual gatherings had done much to consolidate the work of the conference, said Mr E. G. Appleton.
