King’s Birthday Holiday On
Perhaps because of cabled references to the abandonment of the Whitsun bank holiday in Britain, under pressure of war, rumours have been circulated that the King’s birthday holiday will not be observed this year in New Zealand. The day will be observed as usual, on June 3, the birthday of the reigning Sovereign, being a statutory holiday.
