One-All For School And Hikurangi

Another drawn game in which the teams were equally matched was the B grade contest between School B and Hikurangi. No score was recorded in the first half. Hikurangi drew first blood when R. Smith shot a nice goal. It was an advantage not held for long. A penalty bully against Hikurangi gave Olga Kokich her chance and from this she secured the equalising goal for School. Mr. J. R. Johnson was umpire. BARGAIN STORES GET Y.W.’s MEASURE. Y.W.C.A. opened its account early in the match with Bargain Stores at the School grounds on Saturday. Within 8 minutes from the opening whistle J; Spratt had netted a nice goal. It was Y.W.C.A.'s last of the day. Although they fought valiantly, Bargain Stores had their measure and on two occasions sent in players to score. F. Hutton and R. Collier netted for Bargain Stores. The game was evenly contested. Messrs. Nixey and Ashcroft refereed. LADIES' B LEADERS DEFEATED FOR FIRST TIME. The surprise of Saturday’s hockeywas provided when Hora Hora beat Manaia in the Ladies’ B competition. It is the first time this season that Manaia has lost a game. The match was evenly contested. For Hora Hora E. Pitman was in scoring mood and got away to net both goals for her side. Mi's. Pohe was the scorer for Manaia. The game was controlled by Mr. G. S. Brown.
