The romantic fascination of secretaries on their business associates is the theme of “Daytime Wife,” one of the new features on the new Regent programme which opened last evening. With Tyrone Power and Linda Darnell in the leading roles, the film is concerned with the romantic activities of a husband who goes whistling under the balcony . of his secretary (Wendy Barrie) and the wife who only temporariy rests on her oars. The wife (Miss Darnell) replies by securing a secretarial post with Warren William, who has Joan Davis as a receptionist The hilarity mounts until the four principals meet in a night club in a delightful climax. Second feature is “City of Chance,” an exciting story of eight-action-pack-ed hours in an exclusive gambling club in which are eight people whose entire lives will be changed if they succeed in leaving. Lynn Bari and DonaPU Woods have the principal roles. Coin.—The United States- Department of Agriculture today announced the beginning of the corn export subsidy programme immediately. The department announced 'the sale of 20,000,000 bushels of Government maize to the United Kingdom under the new .programme. It is proposed to make the shipments from Federal stocks, aggregating 100,000,000 bushels, on which Government stocks have been made. Caueuß— 'The Prime Minister (Mr i Fraser) stated last night that a caucus of members of the Parliamentary Labour Party would be held on Friday, May 24.
