Yugoslavia Calls Up More Classes

LONDON, May 8.

Yugoslavia is calling up more classes to.reinforce the 300,000 troops who are guarding her frontier adjoining Italy and Germany. Crowded troop trains are arriving at Ljubljana and Maribor, while trenches and tank barricades are being constructed for miles behind the permanent defences. Over 600,000 Yugoslav soldiers are reported to be under arms, although Yugoslavia has not yet officially mobilised. The official Hungarian news agency stated that Germany had asked the Government for permission to send troops through Hungary, says the Budapest correspondent of the Associated Press. Later, however, the Hungarian news agency explains that its report was originally published in the Belgrade newspaper “Politika,” from its Budapest correspondent, and there is no confirmation of a German demand. The Budapest radio says it is rumoured that Hitler and Mussolini will meet at Innsbruck or Munich during the next few days.
