Voroshiloff's New Job
' LONDON, May 7. The Russian Minister for Defence (Voroshiloff) has been replaced by Marshal Semyon Timoshenko, Commander of the Kieff Military district, states the Moscow report. Voroshiloff has been appointed assistant chairman of the Council of Commissars and chairman of the council’s Defence Committee. While the world is guessing at the reason for his new position, Marshal Voroshiloff attended the Bolshoi Opera House, together with M. Stalin, M. Molotoff and Marshal Timoshenko. Newspapers report the change casually, the “Pravda” devoting the front page to the announcement that three men, including Timoshenko, have been promoted to the rank of marshal, and also that officers of the pre-revolution Army and Navy have been re-em-ployed.
